Amid fears that Lakota will close, we, the patrons of Lakota ask Bristol City Council and the Burgess Family to consider other ways the club could continue to survive.
As a bastion of Bristol's infamous nightlife scene, we want to ensure the club stays open. It would be a huge loss not just to the local area, but due to it's vast influence it would be a loss for the entire UK. Showcasing upcoming artists from a variety of genres and giving many their first major gig in this city, losing Lakota will be yet another crippling blow to the live industry in this city.
With clubs closing across the UK at alarming rates, we need to take a stand to make sure that this club doesn't go the same way as so many countless others. We need to make sure that nightlife has a future beyond upcycled-chic bars and soulless chains. We need to make sure the people and culture of Bristol remain for generations to come.
So please read this this petition and consider the other options available to you. To help save Lakota, to help save Bristol, and to help save the entire future music scene across the UK.
