Bringing Back Class Homerooms

Bringing Back Class Homerooms
The Issue
Having homeroom with your class would be beneficial for all grade levels, not just seniors, because it creates a space for students to connect, stay organized, and build a stronger sense of community. For seniors especially, it provides a dedicated time and space to discuss and make important class decisions together. As seniors, there are many responsibilities to manage, such as planning prom, organizing fundraisers, managing the class budget, and preparing for graduation. Having just one homeroom a week with your class isn’t enough time to handle all of these tasks effectively or to keep everyone on the same page. On top of that, seniors want to spend their final year making memories and enjoying time together before we all go our separate ways. Many seniors don’t even have classes together anymore, so bringing back homeroom would give us a much-needed chance to reconnect and spend time as a class. Homeroom allows everyone to stay informed, voice their opinions, and work as a team to make decisions that affect the entire class. It helps build a sense of community and ensures that no one is left out of the planning process. As students, we feel like changes are being made to things that didn’t need to be changed, and taking away homeroom is one of those things. It was something that worked well and served an important purpose, especially for the senior class who have looked forward to this for many years.
This is why I believe EHS should go back to our old homeroom system.
Thank You!
