As students from John F Kennedy High School we have been noticing lots of food waste at school. Unfortunately when people waste this perfectly good food it hurts our environment bringing more pests into our school and when this food gets sent to landfills it causes them to release more methane gases, a greenhouse gas, and our school funds. We want to change this! By signing this petition you’re showing you care about the school’s environment and wish to see a change on food waste. We would like to add recycling/separation bins around the school or even bins to donate uneaten fruits and veggies to give back to the community.
