Having recently moved to Bettendorf from Davenport, we REALLY miss having yard waste bins, rather than using kraft paper bags and stickers. 
These bins are the same as a city provided garbage can, but identified with an orange stripe or orange lid. There is a 1-time start up fee, and a small annual fee for maintaining the can (just like a garbage can). The can can be placed out the same as normal yard waste pick up, as often or as little as you would like, and you’re charged a small flat rate only when your bin is picked up. 
Having yard waste bins cuts down on the number of trips and purchases for bags and stickers, and allows for more efficient pick ups with less overall waste. 
The City of Bettendorf utilizes the same compost facility as the City of Davenport, the only difference is who provides the bins.
