In 2018, Kings Dominion introduced “WinterFest,” an all-new Christmas Event for the park. This would be the park’s first ever Christmas event AND the first time ever in the park’s 40+ Year History that it would be open all the way through the end of the year

For 6 Seasons, This was a fan-favorite event for many, as it featured dazzling lights, great festive entertainment, fabulous exclusive food. It was such an experience to be apart of. A favorite night for many was December 31st for the park’s annual New Year’s Eve Celebration featuring a DJ, Countdown, Fireworks, & plenty more

However in 2025 it was announced that WinterFest would not be returning to Kings Dominion. No official reason has been given by the park or the parent company “Six Flags.” This news was gut-wrenching for the community, as visiting this event was a tradition for many families out there. Many of the park employees as well looked forward to working this event every year
