Students in the Lake County Schools district who are passionate about water polo face significant challenges due to the lack of high school teams. Despite their dedication and training with clubs, these students' talents and achievements often go unnoticed by college recruiters who prioritize high school competitions when scouting potential recruits.

Water polo is not just a sport; it's an avenue for personal development, teamwork, and potentially a path to higher education through scholarships. According to USA Water Polo, 86% of NCAA water polo athletes receive some form of financial aid for college. However, without local high school teams in Lake County, our students are missing out on these opportunities.

Moreover, establishing a water polo team can also contribute positively to our community. Studies have shown that student participation in sports can lead to better academic performance and improved mental health (American Psychological Association).

We call upon the Lake County Schools district administration to recognize this need among its students and take immediate action towards forming a water polo team in our schools. By doing so, we will be providing equal opportunities for all our students while enriching their overall educational experience.
