Bring U2 to Michigan Stadium for a historic celebration
The Issue
Growing up, U2's music has been the soundtrack to our lives, their lyrics resonating with our personal journeys and collective memories. Whether it was a heartfelt anthem that helped us through a tough time or a celebratory song that marked a joyous occasion, U2 has always been more than just a band. Meanwhile, Michigan Stadium—the magnificent Big House—has been home to countless unforgettable events, from thrilling sports victories to monumental concerts that have united us in sheer exhilaration.
In 2026, we are presented with a once-in-a-century opportunity: the dual celebration of two remarkable milestones. U2 will mark their 50th anniversary since the band’s inception in a modest Dublin kitchen, while Michigan Stadium reaches its 100th anniversary as the largest stadium in the United States. This is a rare moment to merge music history with a legendary venue, creating an experience that honors both legacy and innovation.
Imagine being part of this epic celebration at the Big House, surrounded by fellow fans under the open sky, echoing the iconic tunes that have touched millions. Envisioning U2’s legendary stage presence bringing the entire stadium to life with energy and sound is nothing short of exhilarating.
Hosting U2 at Michigan Stadium would not only celebrate these significant milestones, but also inject considerable economic activity into Ann Arbor, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond. The increased attendance could benefit local businesses, with hotels, restaurants, and shops seeing an influx of eager concertgoers.
To transform this vision into reality, we are calling on U2, their management, and the University of Michigan to collaborate and coordinate an event that will be etched into memory forever. We believe that efforts from the local community, university administration, and music lovers worldwide can truly make it happen.
Let’s unite to transform this dream into a shared experience. We need your support to show that the desire for this event is real and tangible. Please sign this petition to bring U2 to the Big House and make this historical celebration a reality!
