The Town of Tecumseh is currently updating and improving Southfield Park, and we are excited to see these improvements happening in our neighbourhood!

We truly appreciate the Town’s investment in the park, including the new splash pad, playground equipment, washroom facilities, perimeter walking trail, landscaping, and other improvements. These additions will make Southfield Park an even better place for families and residents of all ages to enjoy.

Our Request:
While improvements to the park are underway, we respectfully ask the Town of Tecumseh to consider adding two dedicated public pickleball courts to Southfield Park.

Why Pickleball Courts Would Be a Great Addition

• A growing and popular activity: Pickleball continues to grow in popularity among people of many different ages and skill levels. Adding courts at Southfield Park would provide another convenient recreational opportunity for our neighbourhood.
• Bringing generations together: One of the great things about pickleball is that youth, adults, parents, grandparents, and seniors can all enjoy it. Families could visit the park together, with children enjoying the splash pad or playground while others enjoy the courts, trail, and green space.
• Complements the new park amenities: The new playground, splash pad, walking trail, washrooms, and open green space already provide wonderful opportunities for recreation. Two pickleball courts would add another activity and help make Southfield Park an even more welcoming and well-rounded community space.
• A good time to consider the opportunity: With improvements currently taking place at Southfield Park, we believe this is a great time for the Town to explore whether pickleball courts could be incorporated into the park, either as part of the current improvements or as a future addition.

Our image shows only one possible concept. We understand the Town would determine the final location and design while considering nearby residents, existing green space, trees, safety, accessibility, and other site requirements.
