We've received overwhelming support to restore train service downtown. Since launching the petition we've received 1478 signatures and ignited many conversations on social media and in our community. Mayor Pete thanked us for our efforts and asked us to include NICTD (the governing body for the South Shore) as a recipient of the petition as well. When we reach 1500 signatures we'll send it to the leadership of the South Shore and update Mayor Pete, James Mueller, Eric Horvath, and Tim Scott. We've also identified significant cost savings to the downtown option by reusing Union Station and working with Norfolk Southern to use the existing rail right of way.
