Right now, Wind Gap residents are completely cut off from Pennsylvania’s Statewide Library Card (Access PA) program. Because Wind Gap Borough does not officially fund a state-aided local library, our community is missing out on an incredible, free statewide benefit.

By not participating, our families, students, and seniors are being left behind. We are missing out on free access to millions of books, professional research databases, specialized children's literacy programs, and state-funded technology infrastructure.

How the Program Benefits Us:

Joining the Access PA program would completely transform our community's access to information and education. It triggers a mandatory "Statewide Library Card" rule. This means a library card issued to a Wind Gap resident would act as a golden ticket, granting us free borrowing privileges at hundreds of public libraries all across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Our Call to Action:

We, the undersigned residents and taxpayers of Wind Gap and the surrounding Slate Belt area, call upon the Wind Gap Borough Council to officially prioritize library services. We urge the Council to dedicate the state-mandated $5.00 per capita funding in the upcoming budget to secure Access PA privileges for our community, either through a regional library partnership or by helping transition Blue Mountain Community Library into a state-aided public institution.
