The Issue

My poor boy blu who isn’t an XL or a “brand type”. He has been found guilty of biting someone and HE DID NOT DO IT!

The laws that allowed this to happen to Blu are so vague, Blu is one in a million of dogs this has happened to here in the UK.

The powers of seizure with limited evidence if any evidence are awful. The police has the power to remove your dog over an apprehension, not even an action. Lack of evidence and not even a warrant (as long as they say the right words).

The courts should have to physically prove with tests of forensics and behaviour test to determine if a particular dog bit a person, and for my Blu NONE OF THIS WAS DONE! And we have consistently expressed his innocence! But we wasn’t believed, it was the victims word against ours.

We did not have a fair trail, and again our Blu is not the only dog who has suffered due to this legislation. Dogs have been shot in the streets, killed without their owners even being aware. Charged with lack of evidence, removed from family homes for years.

Our babies have little if any rights. The legislation as it stands, has caused more harm than any good for dogs and their owners. It benefits the police and courts only. It gives us little justice and little faith in the system.

this needs to called for revision and review. And taken into account the owners and the dogs NOT JUST THE VICTIM.

I’m not saying that dogs that are dangerous shouldn’t be held accountable and irresponsible owners shouldn’t be held accountable because of course they should. However, if the owners are adamant their dog is innocent and there is a lack of evidence to prove the dog guilty, more test should be taken to allow fairness in our courts. These test can be done but very rarely are done.

This is not justice! It’s a system set up to make us fail.
