Texans do not have a Texas flag emoji to accompany a picture of their favorite cowboy boots, their award-winning chili recipe, or a beautiful field of bluebonnets. An official Texas flag emoji, a Texas state-shaped emoji, and the Alamo emoji on iPhones would allow users to express their loud-and-proud Texas roots.

As Texans, our state flag is ingrained in our culture and our identity. “Texan” is the first identity we claim when we travel, and our flag symbolizes our pioneer spirit recognized around the world. 

From celebrating Texas Independence Day, to cheering on our football teams, to the internationally recognized sayings "Don't mess with Texas" and “Remember the Alamo,” the Lone Star State deserves to be represented on our keyboards. The Alamo itself, our shrine of Texas Liberty, is known around the world as a beacon of freedom, courage, and sacrifice.

Join me in asking Apple to recognize the Lone Star State’s unique place in history and culture by adding the Texas Flag, the Shape of Texas, and the Alamo to the emoji keyboard.
