On June 6th, Apple had their WWDC22. Alongside iOS, macOS and watchOS, they also announced the next version of iPadOS: iPadOS 16.

One of the coolest new features is Stage Manager. It gives you a desktop-like window interface with full external monitor support. It‘s currently the most hyped feature of iPadOS.

Unfortunately, you can only use it on iPad with the latest and greatest M1 chip. “Older” iPads (like the 2020 iPad Pro) will not get this feature. Although you can use many apps via split screen together seamlessly, Apple decided that 6GB of RAM are not enough and that even the A12Z is too slow. We all know that even the base iPad models or even iPhones would be able to handle this.

The moment the new iPad Pro was released in 2021, where Apple put the M1 into a f*cking tablet, people shortly realized that the M1 had no real use since many pro apps were missing and the iPad still lacked a lot of features. This could be a great move a Apple to promote the very expensive M1 iPads in a very evil way.

It’s not just Stage Manager. Apple does this all the time — for years. The more we talk about these problems, the more visibility get and the higher chance that Apple will do something. We consumers have the right to get the most out of our products (especially if we paid at least a thousand bucks on an now “outdated” iPad); so please, Apple:
