I wanted to share an important update on the Safe Haven Laws and Safe Haven Baby Boxes petition.
After reaching out to NSW MPs, Jordan Lane MP, Member for Ryde, took the time to advocate on my behalf and raised this issue directly with the NSW Government.
Jordan has made representations regarding my concerns and requested that the matter be considered by the relevant Minister.
I have now received confirmation that those representations have been made to The Hon. Kate Washington MP, Minister for Families and Communities, requesting advice on Safe Haven Laws and Safe Haven Baby Boxes in NSW.
I have also been advised that the Minister’s office has been asked to liaise with me directly once a response has been prepared.
I’ve been told that a Ministerial response can take up to 8 weeks, so I will continue to follow this process and keep everyone updated.
