We are requesting the return of our lacrosse coach, David Kahn. A decision made by the superintendent of our district to bench our coach for the season has affected not only our lacrosse team, but our high school as well. Coach Kahn is a well-respected and loved teacher in our high school. He goes above and beyond for those on the field and in the classroom. While we appreciate everything the substitute coaches have done for our team this season, they can not fill the void of Coach Kahn. He is an integral part of our team and a mentor to all of us. Coach Kahn not only created a team, but he also created a family. His coaching encourages us to look out for each other as brothers. He demands good sportsmanship and encourages us to be role models to others. He has coached most of us before high school. Our team has felt the impact of his absence. Our performance has not been the same since his departure. There has also been a noticeable decline in team morale. We believe that reinstating him will not only improve the performance of our team but also restore its spirit and unity. This will strengthen the team for years to come. We fear the future of the team without Coach Kahn. We urge those in charge to reconsider their decision and bring back someone who is so much more than just a coach to us.
