We, the undersigned, respectfully call on the relevant rugby authorities and ticketing partners to make Springbok match tickets at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium more affordable and accessible for the people of Gqeberha and the Eastern Cape.

The Eastern Cape is a province rich in rugby heritage and has produced some of South Africa's greatest rugby talent, including Siya Kolisi and Rassie Erasmus. When the Springboks play in Gqeberha, local supporters should have a fair opportunity to be part of the occasion.

Many families in our community simply cannot afford current ticket prices. For some, attending a Springbok match means having to choose between buying a ticket and paying for essential household needs, including food for the week.

We believe rugby is for all South Africans and that opportunities should exist for ordinary supporters, families, children, pensioners, and local rugby fans to experience the excitement of watching the Springboks live.

We therefore request:

✅ A larger allocation of affordable tickets for local supporters.

✅ More entry-level ticket options for families and communities.

✅ Consideration of special pricing initiatives for local residents and grassroots rugby supporters.

✅ A commitment to keeping international rugby accessible to the communities that have contributed so much to the sport.

The Springboks inspire hope, unity, and pride across South Africa. Let's ensure that when they come to Gqeberha, the people who helped build our rugby legacy can be there to support them.
