The announcement of Nickelback's 2027 Australian tour has sparked excitement across the nation, yet left a palpable void in Townsville. As a devoted music lover and passionate Nickelback fan, I believe it's time for our city to shine in the spotlight and host the rock legends. We’ve seen P¡nk, Jelly Roll, Korn, Guns’n’Roses, Jimmy Barnes and many others who have all loved playing in our regional town. It’s amazing for the community and so many surrounds who have no chance to fly to the major cities on the tour as yet.
Despite being one of the fastest-growing cities in Queensland, Townsville has missed out on this tour, leaving thousands of fans without the opportunity to experience the electrifying atmosphere of a live Nickelback concert!
Our city's innovative spirit and supportive community make it the perfect venue for such an extraordinary event. Townsville boasts state-of-the-art facilities, with the stadium which can comfortably accommodate large crowds, ensuring a memorable show for both the band and their fans.
By bringing Nickelback to Townsville, not only would the city benefit economically from increased tourism and local business patronage, but it would also set a precedent for future international artists to include us in their touring plans.
