The NHL video game franchise started on PC. However NHL '09 was the last version to be on the platform. I, alongside fellow PC gamers feel cheated. A game that was on our platform was taken away and hasn't been returned in over 14 years now. There was no need to remove it in the first place, due to the fact that the NHL games were quite popular. There are people still playing NHL '09 on PC, a game released in 2008. NHL gamers on PC care dearly for this franchise and love to get it back. It would only help EA re-grow their fanbase and make higher profits. Sports games have always had succes on PC. For instance the FIFA, NBA an Madden series, which were made by EA. In fact, NHL is the only sportsgame from EA, that is not available at PC. With that said, there is no reason not to release the NHL franchise on PC.
