The Issue

Growing up in Tustin, CA, and being part of Legacy Magnet Academy, I’ve seen how much fun and excitement school events can bring. My friends and I are excited about the idea of a safe, fun way to hang out, make memories, and connect with our classmates. Right now, Legacy Magnet Academy doesn’t have school dances, and we think it’s the perfect time to bring them to our school!

School dances are more than just a reason to dress up—they give students a structured, safe space to socialize, build friendships, and celebrate our school community. They also boost school spirit, strengthen connections across grades, and create unforgettable memories.

We propose hosting three key dances throughout the year. A Homecoming or Fall Dance would be a semi-formal event with games, fun themes, and activities to kick off the school year with excitement. A Winter Dance or Winter Formal would be dressy and festive, celebrating the season and bringing warmth to our campus. Finally, a Spring Dance or Prom would be a formal celebration to mark the end of the school year and celebrate our achievements together.

To make these dances possible, we suggest raising money through fun and simple activities such as bake sales, snack stands, spirit days, car washes, talent shows, raffles, school merchandise sales, and movie nights. These activities would allow students, families, and the community to contribute while creating excitement and school pride.

By hosting these dances, Legacy Magnet Academy can create a fun and memorable experience for students like me and my friends. Let’s bring more energy, connection, and school spirit to our community. Sign this petition and help make school dances a reality at Legacy Magnet Academy!
