Bring More Roller Coasters and Attractions to Calaway Park!
The Issue
Calaway Park, Alberta’s only major amusement park, has been a beloved destination for families for over four decades. However, it has always had just one main roller coaster, and many visitors, including myself, have been disappointed by the limited attractions. We believe that by adding more roller coasters and modern attractions, Calaway Park can become a premier destination, comparable to Canada’s Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario.
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT: Calaway Park is currently home to 32 family-friendly rides. but it lacks the variety and excitement that other major amusement parks offer.
For instance, Canada’s Wonderland boasts 18 roller coasters, including world-class thrill rides like the Yukon Striker, Leviathan, and Behemoth. Additionally, Canada’s Wonderland features a 20-acre water park, live entertainment, and special events throughout the year.
In contrast, Calaway Park does not even have a 3D theatre, a large water park, or even a wide range of roller coasters. This lack of variety has led to negative experiences for many visitors. I remember visiting Calaway Park as a child and telling my mother, “Don’t ever take me here again.” Unfortunately, I never returned, and I continue to hear similar sentiments from others.
What We Want:
More Roller Coasters: Adding more roller coasters will attract thrill-seekers and families alike, making Calaway Park a more exciting destination.
Modern Attractions: Introducing attractions like a 3D theatre, water slides, and interactive experiences will enhance the overall visitor experience.
Live Entertainment: Regular live shows and special events will keep visitors engaged and encourage repeat visits.
HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT CALAWAY PARK:
Increased Revenue: More attractions will draw larger crowds, leading to higher ticket sales and revenue.
Enhanced Reputation: By offering a wider range of attractions, Calaway Park can improve its reputation and compete with other major amusement parks in Canada.
