Bring missing Disney scenes to Disney+
Bring missing Disney scenes to Disney+
The Issue
As someone who grew up in the 2000s, Disney movies were a significant part of my childhood. Many of us have fond memories of watching our favorite classics like "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," and "Mulan." However, some of the enchanting scenes that added layers of magic and emotion to these films are missing from their Disney+ versions. We want to bring back beloved scenes like "Human Again" from _Beauty and the Beast_, "The Morning Report" from _The Lion King_, "If I Never Knew You" and its reprise from _Pocahontas_, "When Love is Gone" from _The Muppet Christmas Carol_, "Reflection" reprise from _Mulan_, "Gonna Get My Wish" and a finale reprise of “Down To The Sea” (with Attina, Andrina, Alana and Arista’s redesigns for both beginning and ending for the movie) from _The Little Mermaid 2_, and the deleted scene "A Wish is Worth Making" from _Wish_.
Understanding the cultural impact these scenes have had, it's clear that their absence is felt deeply by fans who cherished them. For instance, songs like "If I Never Knew You" and "When Love is Gone" played crucial roles in defining the emotional journeys of their respective stories. Meanwhile, "Reflection" is a defining moment in _Mulan_, and its reprise would beautifully culminate her transformation and resilience after saving China based on the extended scene that didn’t make it into the final film. Along with a heartwarming deleted scene that didn’t make to _Wish_ about Sabino singing “A Wish is Worth Making” after he got his wish back as a result of a wish being granted after returning it to its granter.
By including these cherished scenes in the Disney+ versions of these films, Disney can provide a more authentic experience that resonates with the original viewers and introduces new ones to the full spectrum of these masterpieces. Their addition as extended versions or director’s cuts would not only honor the artistic vision of the filmmakers but also enhance the storytelling, ensuring that these important cultural pieces remain accessible in their entirety.
We believe that these extended versions will enhance the attractiveness of Disney+ to potential new subscribers as well, appealing to both longtime Disney aficionados and a new generation eager to explore the rich and diverse stories that Disney has crafted over decades.
Therefore, we urge Disney to listen to the voices of their devoted audience, honor the legacy of these films, and bring these missing scenes back to life on Disney+. It’s time to restore the full magic and emotional depth of these beloved stories. Sign this petition to help make our wish a reality.
