Since the Vanguard update (Riot Games' proprietary anti-cheat system), all Linux users have been cut out from the world of League of Legends and all other Riot Games titles.
I don't need to explain why this is a pity, given that the number of people choosing to switch from Windows/macOS to Linux is increasing because of the numerous advantages that this platform grants to its users, and the possibility to stand apart from the large overuse of AI that now comes preinstalled in almost every device.

League of Legends and video games in general are an outlet that lets people vent from everyday life stress, and the not-so-recent implementation of SteamOS made it clear to everybody that gaming on Linux is not only possible, but also brings all the advantages with it, such as a smooth, fast, and debloated gaming/PC experience.

Riot Games' choice, therefore, seems arbitrary and not driven by a real necessity to improve the security of their product (LoL was in fact playable on every OS before). They simply decided to cut off a part of users who are now, if they want to keep playing the game, forced to stick with Windows/macOS or to dual-boot.

The market share of Linux users may be small, but it is certainly increasing, and with this petition I hope to collect enough support to make Riot Games reconsider their choice and let us all play their game while being free to choose our favourite OS.
