Bring Junior Eurovision Back Australia

Bring Junior Eurovision Back Australia
The issue
Australia has a proud history in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, having competed from 2015 to 2019. During that time, young talents like Bella Paige, Jael Wena, and Jordan Anthony took the international stage and inspired thousands of Australian children to dream big and pursue music with confidence and ambition.
However, since 2020, Australia has withdrawn from the competition, and it’s no longer even broadcast on Australian television. This absence has created a major gap in the development pathways available to young vocalists, limiting their chances to perform, grow, and be recognised nationally and internationally.
Unlike sport, where children benefit from well-established and well-funded progression systems, young Australian singers face systemic barriers. And yet, the music sector contributes as much or more to Australia's economy than some sports sectors, especially when accounting for publishing, streaming, and live performance. Despite this, many talented musicians are left with no choice but to seek opportunities overseas due to a lack of local support.
This campaign is a step toward changing that, not only by calling for Australia's return to Junior Eurovision and its broadcast, but by helping shift public perception toward valuing and investing in the arts as an essential part of Australia's cultural and economic future.
