As a lifelong fan of the a nightmare on elm street franchise. I was devastated to hear about Robert Englund’s retirement from playing our beloved Freddy Krueger. The fan base of The Nightmare industry is yearning for the franchise to continue. I firmly believe there is still strong hope for the future of this iconic horror series.  That help lies in none other than Johnny Depp.

Johnny Depp‘s connection to not only Robert Englund and The nightmare on elm street franchise is undeniable. In fact, his very first major film role was in Wes Craven’s original nightmare on elm street in 1984 when he played Glen Lantz, one of Freddy’s unfortunate victims. This marked The beginning of an incredible career for Johnny Depp and a special bond with Robert Englund and the character of Freddy Krueger.

Not only did Johnny work closely with Robert during their time filming together, but he witness firsthand how Robert brought life to terrifying character. He understands The essence of Freddy Krueger, like no other actor could.
