A Petition to Bring Jet Back to Ohio County Schools.

Meet Jet, an ADA trained emotional support dog and K9 Officer. Jet has been a familiar face at OCMS for the last three years, accompanying his handler,  Officer Deshane. He has been a source of comfort, safety, and connection for our students.

This morning was the very first day of the school year. Jet eagerly waited to accompany his handler to work. Unfortunately he is no longer allowed to,  due to a decison made without explanation by the Ohio County School Board. His enthusiasm is a testament to the profound impact these animals can have. It's heartbreaking that he had to be led back inside the house, unable to comprehend why he couldn't join his handler. His role may not be traditional, but it's undoubtedly vital.

The Ohio County School Board's recent vote to remove Jet from his post at the middle school, yet another service dog remains active at a different school within our county.

By attending the next School Board Meeting on the 3rd Thursday of this month at 5pm, we can collectively advocate for positive change and ensure that our voices are heard. Let's work together to create a more supportive environment for our students
