Bring In-N-Out to UC Berkeley!

Clarification: We are for In-N-Out in Lower Sproul or nearby to campus.
In-N-Out is, as many students would agree, a staple of West coast foods, as it is a family-owned business that started in California. As we are the University of California, many students have grown up with In-N-Out over the years and would consider it the best burger you could have in California. It is for this reason that it has spread to many places and opened up locations anywhere from beside busy interstate freeways to just across the street from other UC campuses.
In 2008, Panda Express expressed interest in having a commercial space in Lower Sproul's food court, to the protest of many students for various reasons. A petition was created with over 500 signatures, which was enough to oust Panda Express's plans. With that same Berkeley spirit, we fight to bring our favorite burger establishment to the Berkeley campus, so that not only can fans of the business enjoy it, but so that they may invite their friends from out of state or abroad to taste one of America's greatest burgers.
The nearest In-N-Out to Berkeley as things are now is a 20 minute drive away. This is highly inconvenient for students, as many students don't have a car, and also don't have the time to be spending traveling that far for food. Having a food establishment like In-N-Out will also help the Berkeley community, as many students will be able to have jobs at the restaurant. As it is known to be a sit-down restaurant, it will also bring students together, through conversation or through student club fundraisers.
Today we bring over 1000 signatures of support for this petition, and hope that the ASUC Commercial and Student Services Board along with those in charge of the Lower Sproul Redevelopment Project would consider bringing In-N-Out onboard as a vendor, and if not requesting their presence in the Berkeley area.
