On the 3rd of August 2025, our XL Bully, Ghost, was seized by Thames Valley Police following an altercation with a small dog. Despite being a much-loved family pet, Ghost is now being misidentified as a “pitbull type,” and authorities have said he must be destroyed.

This is not justice. Ghost is not a dangerous dog – he is part of our family. Like many XL Bullies across the UK, he is being unfairly targeted and punished due to his appearance, not his character.

We are calling on Thames Valley Police and relevant authorities to:

• Release Ghost back to his family.
• Recognise the unfair treatment of XL Bullies and stop the misclassification of these dogs as pitbulls.
• Adopt fair and compassionate practices when dealing with seized dogs, judging them on behaviour, not breed.

Every day that Ghost is kept away from his home is another day of unnecessary suffering for him and for us, his family. We need your help to raise awareness and push back against breed-based discrimination.
