Bring Food City to Pikeville, Tn
Bring Food City to Pikeville, Tn
The Issue
Bring a Food City Supermarket to Pikeville and Bledsoe County!
The Goal: We want to show K-VA-T Food Stores corporate leadership and our local elected officials that Pikeville and Bledsoe County are developer-ready and enthusiastic about supporting a new Food City location.
Why this matters:
Right now, hundreds of Bledsoe County families routinely drive 25 to 30 minutes over to the Food City stores in Dayton or Crossville to handle their weekly grocery shopping. This means hard-earned Bledsoe County money is leaving our local economy and funding neighboring Rhea and Cumberland counties instead of our own schools, infrastructure, and parks.
A new Food City located right here in Pikeville—conveniently off the US-127 Bypass corridor—would do wonders for our hometown:
Save our local families valuable time and gas money.
Keep our critical retail sales tax dollars right here inside Bledsoe County.
Provide jobs for our community members.
Serve the thousands of tourists passing through our county every year on their way to Fall Creek Falls State Park.
Food City already has a dominant footprint and distribution network operating right in our region, making a Pikeville expansion incredibly logical. However, corporate grocers rarely act unless they see overwhelming, organized local demand.
By signing this e-petition, you pledge that your household wants a full-service Food City in Pikeville and that you will actively shop there. Let's make our voices heard and work together to grow our community! Please sign and share with your neighbors!
