The Issue

Faith is more than a dog; she is my lifeline. Struggling with multiple sclerosis, I rely on Faith as my support dog who is trained to sense my seizures and keep me safe. As a professional trainer, I poured my heart into training her, and what emerged is a dog that is nothing but pure love. Beyond her role with me, she holds a special place in the hearts of my four children, especially my autistic child for whom Faith is a source of comfort and security.

Recently, Faith was seized by authorities in London who mistakenly labeled her as a pitbull, accusing her simply based on appearance and not actions. She hasn’t harmed any humans or any dogs; she is a gentle mix of Staff and Mastiff. Faith has a heart full of sweetness and is five years old, calm, loving, and irreplaceable. Her absence has created a void not only in our family but has left my children, particularly my autistic child, struggling. It is heart-wrenching to see their world torn apart with Faith missing. They are fighting every day with the hope that she will be back at home where she belongs.

The Dangerous Dogs Act is flawed in its execution, not accounting for the individual behavior of dogs, which should be judged by their actions, not their looks. Faith has never shown aggression and poses no threat to anyone. This breed-specific legislation unfairly targets dogs like her without considering their temperament and how they contribute positively to their family's well-being.

We urge the relevant authorities to review Faith's case based on her behavior and invaluable role in our family. Let us correct this misconception and bring Faith back home to her family who loves and needs her dearly. Please help by signing this petition to reunite Faith with her family in London. Your support can make a real difference in ensuring she comes home to where she's happiest and most needed. Sign the petition to help Faith return to the embrace of her loving family.

Thank you for your understanding and kindness.
