As an inhabitant of Mankato and a passionate music enthusiast, I've always appreciated our city's vibrant concert scene. This, together with Minnesota’s reputation, like the notable Social-ICE in Rochester, for hosting exceptional music events, has made our community a hotspot for a diverse range of music genres. However, I've observed a significant gap in our offerings: the exciting and infectious energy of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festivals.

Our city, with its unparalleled concert vibes, is the perfect venue to host a spectacular EDM festival. Hosting an EDM festival would not only widen Mankato's musical assortment but also boost local businesses through tourism, generating revenue that can immensely benefit our community.

In 2018, Billboard reported that 32 million people in the U.S attended at least one music festival annually. Given the steady growth of dance music, I am confident that an EDM festival in Mankato would draw a substantial audience both from our region and beyond.

Incorporating an EDM festival into our city's repertoire of events would greatly enhance our reputation as a go-to destination for music lovers. I implore our city council, the tourism department, and all relevant stakeholders to consider this proposition. I sincerely believe that such a festival can revitalize our music scene and offer something new to residents as well as tourists.
