Bring Dave the Community Cat Back to Well Pharmacy

For the past 3–4 years, Dave the community cat has been a much-loved part of our local community. He wasn’t just a cat passing through — he had a routine, a purpose, and a place he clearly felt safe and happy.

Every day, Dave would visit the pharmacy, greet customers, and curl up on his favourite shelf. For many people, seeing Dave became the highlight of their visit. He brought comfort, smiles, and a sense of community that you simply can’t manufacture.

Some customers even chose this pharmacy over others just because of Dave.

Now, after a single complaint, Dave has been completely banned.

What makes this even harder to accept is that this decision appears to have been made by someone who has never met Dave, never witnessed the joy he brings, and never spoken to the many customers who adore him.

Dave doesn’t understand complaints, policies, or decisions made behind closed doors. He only knows that a place he once felt welcome in — a place that felt like his second home — is now closed to him.

He still tries to return, sneaking in when he can, only to be removed and put back outside. Watching this is genuinely heartbreaking.

This isn’t just about a cat.

It’s about community, compassion, and common sense.

We are asking Well Pharmacy to reconsider this decision and work with the community to find a reasonable solution — one that allows Dave to safely continue being part of the place he loves, while addressing any concerns raised.

Dave has given years of comfort and joy.

Now it’s time for us to stand up for him.
