PETITION FOR THE REINSTATEMENT OF DARRYL

Bring Darryl Back to the Community He Served

We, the undersigned members of our community, are asking for Darryl to be reinstated to his position at the Foothills Food Bank.

Darryl was more than someone who simply showed up for work on Food Bank days. He became a familiar and valued part of our community. For many of us, seeing Darryl was something we genuinely looked forward to. His presence brought warmth, kindness, and a sense of connection the Food Bank experience.

People enjoyed talking with Darryl, catching up with him, and sharing updates about their families and their lives. He took time to get to know people, remember their stories, and make them feel seen and welcomed. Over time, those conversations became an important part of the community for many of us.

We Miss Darryl.

We believe that the loss of his position has also meant the loss of someone who played an important role in bringing people together. Darryl was a pillar of our community and his impact reached far beyond the responsibilites listed in a job description. While we may not know or agree with all of the circumstances surrounding his termination, we believe that the voices of the people he served should be heard. The community has spoken through the relationships he built, the people who looked forward to seeing him, and the many individuals who feel that his presence made a meaningful difference.

We respectfully ask those responsible for this decision to reconsider Darryl's termination and give him the opportunity to return to his position.

Our community is asking for Darryl to come back- not just because we miss having him around, but because we believe that people who make a genuine and positive difference in their community matter.

We have noticed a significant change in the overall atmosphere and experience at the Food Bank since Darryl’s departure. Many community members have expressed concerns about the noticeable decline in the quality and availability of food being distributed. There have been instances where expired items have been handed out, while fresh milk and produce have become increasingly scarce. Some of the food available has also been reported to be moldy or otherwise unsuitable for distribution. These changes have been deeply concerning to the community, particularly for those who rely on the Food Bank for access to nutritious, fresh food.

Please consider supporting Darryl's reinstatement.

We miss Darryl.

We value Darryl.

Our community wants Darryl back.
