Bring Class 9 CBSE books on time
The Issue
India's education system is one of the most robust in the world, yet every year, students encounter a predictable hurdle: delays in the availability of the official Class 9 CBSE textbooks. As parents and students eagerly wait for these vital resources, the anxiety and frustration mount, impacting academic preparedness and educational outcomes.
In my neighborhood, the commencement of the academic year has always been a time of excitement and curiosity for students. However, this excitement is often bogged down by the delay in receiving textbooks on time. My own child, like countless others, sits at home waiting for books that should have been available weeks ago. The procrastination in textbook distribution not only disrupts learning but also demotivates students who are eager to dive into their subjects.
According to the All India Parents' Association, over 40% of students nationwide face delays in getting their books each year, causing them to lag behind in curriculum schedules. This situation is unfair to students who are striving for excellence and deserve to have the tools necessary for their success available at the start of the school year.
The impact of this delay extends beyond academic performance. It breeds anxiety among pupils, pressures teachers to rush through lessons once books arrive, and places undue stress on families trying to compensate by finding alternative resources at additional costs.
A feasible solution lies in better logistical planning and coordination between the CBSE and the publishers. By implementing strict timelines and improving accountability, CBSE can ensure that these educational materials are printed, shipped, and delivered well before the academic year begins.
We call upon the CBSE Board authorities to prioritize the timely release and distribution of Class 9 textbooks in order to support the educational journey of millions of students across India. We cannot afford to let yet another academic year be hampered by such preventable issues.
Please sign this petition to urge CBSE to take action and ensure students have access to their textbooks at the appropriate time, aligning with the commencement of the academic term.
