Thank you all for signing or petition. We have started discussions with the city council but it was never going to be easy. They do not seem to understand we do not want their money, which they do not have anyway. Since losing a lot of money on the White Elephant on the seafront i.e. the eye they are defensive from the start. All we are asking is the use of two farm buildings and to be able to put down track around the park and improve the look of the area which is now overgrown as its been not used for 37 years, we will cover all the cost.
We are now in the process of putting together a very detailed business plan.
We are also pushing to complete the restoration of the tram but we will have to find another temporary building to be able to fit out the upper deck and the underneath truck (wheels and motors).
How would you like to come and sit on the tram with a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit. We have set up a free open weekend Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th April.
Please text me your name/s which day and what time you can visit, time slots are 11.00, 12.00, 1.00, 2.00, 3.00, & 4.00pm both days. We are limiting numbers so please book your visit asap.
Many thanks
Allan secretary Brighton Tram 53 Society
