South San Jose lost its longtime Barnes & Noble at Almaden Plaza, leaving Almaden Valley, Willow Glen, Cambrian, Blossom Valley, and nearby communities without a comparable full-service bookstore.

We ask Barnes & Noble to consider opening a new South San Jose location to serve local families, students, teachers, retirees, book clubs, and longtime readers. The former store was a place to buy books, gifts, magazines, and other items, attend events, meet friends, and enjoy a welcoming community environment. Its closure now requires many former customers to travel farther for a comparable bookstore.

We respectfully ask Barnes & Noble’s Real Estate and Development team to identify a suitable location in South San Jose.
