Wind Breaker by Jo Yong-seok has captivated nearly 600 million readers worldwide since its debut in 2013, becoming a cornerstone of the sports manhwa genre. Its thrilling cycling narrative, compelling characters like Jay Jo, and vibrant artwork have inspired fans across the globe, fostering a passionate community that cherishes its story of perseverance and teamwork.

We were devastated by the announcement on July 11, 2025, that Wind Breaker was canceled due to confirmed tracing allegations. We respect Naver Webtoon’s commitment to upholding ethical standards in creative work and acknowledge Jo Yong-seok’s apology for his mistakes. However, we believe this beloved series deserves a chance for redemption and closure.

As dedicated fans, we urge Naver Webtoon to:

1.Work with Jo Yong-seok to address the plagiarism concerns through stricter editorial oversight or revised creative processes.

2.Consider resuming serialization with transparent measures to ensure originality, or allow the author to release a final volume or chapters to conclude the story respectfully.

3.Explore alternative platforms, such as the author’s personal blog, for sharing the remaining manuscript, as Jo Yong-seok has already shared highlights of the intended ending.

Wind Breaker is more than a manhwa—it’s a source of inspiration for fans worldwide. We believe a fair resolution is possible that respects both the platform’s integrity and the fans’ desire for closure.
