This is about enhancing independence, choice and safety for all of us.

We may have already experienced the situation where you need to request a ride, but your phone is unavailable.  It’s out of battery, it's been stolen, or lost.  

Maybe more importantly, we should all have the choice to leave our phones at home. As we fight for reconnection, stronger social fabric and community, being able to leave home with a more minimalist device would serve to improve our social activities. We maybe want the option to travel lighter, figuratively and literally. 

We implore Uber and Lyft to reevaluate this change and to prioritize this avenue as part of their commitment to accessibility and technological advancement. This small but significant change could make a world of difference for so many.
