My elderly Mum is frail and has partial sight and she can't cross the road in the town she raised her family in. No-one in Kirkintilloch approves of the stupid botched 'shared space' scheme at Catherine Street that was imposed against the clear wishes of disabled and elderly people, as well as parents of young children. East Dunbartonshire Council need to stop taking money and awarding contracts for trendy schemes that the people don't want. We want the traffic lights back exactly where they were on Kirkintilloch High Street and we want no more top-down crazy schemes imposed on us by those who do not care for our well-being and safety! Only the Freedom Alliance candidates (James Watson and myself Alan McManus) standing in the May 2022 council elections had a clear commitment to this and now I'm standing in the Kirkintilloch E&N and Twechar by-election for Sovereignty. Whether I get in or not, let's force the Council to listen to the people of Kirkintilloch and make this change and make Kirky safe again!
