Bring back traditional reload mechanics in CS

The Issue

Revert the Destructive Reload Overhaul in CS2 – Bring Back Proper Gameplay! (March 2026 Update)

Petition Text:

We, thousands of Counter-Strike 2 players, demand that Valve immediately revert the reloading mechanics changes introduced in the March 18/19, 2026 update.

What was broken:

Reloading now discards all remaining ammo in the current magazine forever – you drop the mag and lose every bullet left in it.

This kills the familiar rhythm of the game, especially in 1vX situations, clutches, and fast-paced fights.

Increased reserve magazines (3–4 for rifles, only 2 for AWP) do NOT compensate for the loss of control over ammunition and the punishing nature of every reload.

Shooting, ammo management, and overall feel have become slower, more frustrating, and less competitive.

CS2 has been struggling for years with sub-tick issues, rampant cheaters, poor optimization, and Premier ranking problems. Instead of fixing these critical issues, Valve decided to experiment with the core shooting mechanics that have worked perfectly for over 20 years since CS 1.6 / CS:GO.

We don't want to play a "tactical ammo survival simulator." We want to play Counter-Strike.

Our demands:

Revert the reload changes to the pre-March 2026 state: leftover ammo from the magazine returns to reserves.

Restore the old system where you can safely top off without wasting bullets.

Start listening to the community BEFORE implementing such massive, game-altering changes in the future.

If Valve continues ignoring players, player counts will keep dropping – along with revenue from skins, cases, and the entire ecosystem.

Sign this petition if you're tired of Valve's experiments ruining our favorite game!

Bring back legendary game of all time, don't ruin the game please! We need CS 2 as we know, you don't need to change any weapons, mean ammo, and reloads. We need CS2 not a tacticsl survival simulator game! Valve Corporation, remove that update of 18/19 march 2026.
