Nintendo shut down the eShop for Nintendo Wii U and 3DS in March of 2023, but there are still people who own these systems who want to be able to get new games without having to pay ridiculous prices. Obviously, you can just pirate the games but it feels much better when you actually own something instead of doing something illegal.
