Housing and Residence Life at Marshall University removed the trash-rooms, located in each residence halls across campus, excluding the Freshmen residence halls. 

By removing such rooms on each floor and the trash cans in publicly accessible places, this provides a situation where trash bags can leak throughout the building(s) and cause hazards. Furthermore, it’s inconvenient and more harder for those who require disabilities. 

Within multiple observations throughout the year, so far, the dumpsters that have been designated for trash have often overflowed and trash bags were sitting on the ground, as can be seen in the photos. This can cause environment, safety, and health issues. 

The trash rooms should be brought back to avoid the above stated issues.
