The Issue

In the spring of 2025, under the leadership of Coach Kelly, our high school Varsity baseball team accomplished something many people thought would never happen. We won the Baseline League championship and earned a spot in the Division 1 playoffs. On paper it was a historic season for the guys. For those of us who lived it, it meant way more than wins or championships. It showed that our heard work and dedication really pays off if we want it bad enough.

Coach Kelly did more than coach a baseball team. He built a family. He taught us how to compete for each other, how to stay disciplined when things got tough, and how to believe in ourselves when doubt set in. Every early morning practice, every late night conversation, every hard loss and earned win reflected his influence. He pushed us beyond what we thought we were capable of, not because he demanded perfection, but because his grit led us to become better men and we trust him with everything.

To many of us, Coach Kelly has been more than a coach. He has been a mentor, a role model, and someone we could always rely on. He showed up for his players in ways that went far beyond the field. Whether it was helping seniors navigate the college recruiting process, offering guidance during difficult moments, or simply being there when someone needed support, his presence made a real difference. Because of him, numerous players earned opportunities to continue playing baseball at the collegiate level, opportunities that may not have existed without his support and advocacy.

This sudden resignation of our coach has left the program in shock and in a very tough spot. We lost our mentor, leader, and coach 2 weeks before we start our season after grinding extremely hard all year long. The coach who brought this program to life, brought in new transfers who wanted to play for a coach like Kelly, and brought love for the game back to every player, is now gone.

We are asking our school administration to listen to the players, families, alumni, and community members who have seen firsthand the difference Coach Kelly has made. Reinstating him is not just about baseball. It is about restoring trust, honoring commitment, and protecting a program that has become a source of pride for our school. Coach kelly and the entire program have worked so hard for these past few years to get rid of the dirt on our names, and prove to everyone that we are good young men who just want to play the game we love with the people we love doing it with.

By signing this petition, you are standing up for a coach who changed lives, inspired belief, and gave us something we never want to lose. Coach Kelly belongs with this team, on that field, doing what he has always done best: leading, mentoring, and shaping the future of our athletes and young men. Let us bring him back where he belongs and keep the heart of our championship team alive.
