The students, facility, and staff members of UNCG have decided to create this petition in support of bringing back the use of straws in the Fountain View Cafe. We understand the need for being cost efficient and doing our part in keeping the Earth healthy, but we do believe the current approach is not the best way. Stripping away the option to use straws in the cafe has caused distress for different reasons, but mostly for the fact that we believe it is unsanitary to drink straight from the cups. They aren’t always a 100% clean and using straws add a layer of protection. We’d be willing to negotiate other solutions for the cafe, but first we need our straws back!
