Bring Back The Shack

Bring Back The Shack
The Issue
To the City of Sheboygan and All Concerned Parties,
We, the People of Sheboygan and Other Surrounding Affected Communities, are writing to express our strong support to Bring The Shack Back, the beloved disc golf shop at Vollrath Park. Vollrath, one of the oldest disc golf courses in Wisconsin history, is more than just a course; it is a landmark, a community, a gathering place, and a home for generations of disc golfers. For most of Vollrath's existence, The Shack and the incredible people behind it, Patti and Dennis, have been at its heart. More than just a shop, The Shack was a hub for disc golfers and the disc golf community. It provided essential gear, guidance, and, most importantly, a welcoming atmosphere. It helped introduce and nurture countless young people and young adults, not only into the sport but into life.
Patti and Dennis are not just The Shack People; they are mentors, role models, and stewards of Sheboygan's rich history. Their dedication, knowledge, and kindness have shaped Vollrath and the people of the community into the legacy it is today. They’ve created an environment where newcomers felt encouraged, seasoned players found support, and the community thrived. The absence of The Shack is deeply felt, and the spirit of Vollrath will not be the same without them. We are unsure if any business in this location will ever thrive as much as The Shack did.
We urge the City of Sheboygan, local officials, and all involved decision-makers to do whatever it takes to bring The Shack and The Shack People back to Vollrath. Preserving the legacy of Wisconsin's history means preserving the people and places that made it great. We ask for your support in restoring this essential part of our community.
Sincerely,
The People of Sheboygan and Surrounding Communities
