Bring Back the Quantum Leap Reboot

Bring Back the Quantum Leap Reboot
The Issue
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the reboot of Quantum Leap has an audience score of 74%, which is higher than the average rating of 62%. This is just one factor that makes Quantum Leap (2022) worthy of a third season. After all, it is a show loved by many, whether they are new to the universe of Quantum Leap or have been here since the original.
The original Quantum Leap was released in 1989, and, according to the Guardian, is one of many 80s shows to get a reboot. The reboot keeps a similar premise to the original and therefore gives longtime fans a feeling of nostalgia. In fact, in an interview with TV Fanatic, Raymond Lee, who plays the leaper Ben Song, states that the show holds a “special place” after he watched it with one of his best buds. However, he isn’t the only one. Many people have personal connections with the show. For example, I look forward to watching a new episode with my parents every week, and it’s one of the only times we all get to sit down and do something together.
On top of that, the Quantum Leap (2022) cast is truly exquisite. In the same interview with TV Fanatic, Eliza Taylor, who portrays Hannah Carson, shares how well she and Raymond Lee worked together. "Then, we got on the Zoom, and it turned out we had a mutual friend, Christopher Larkin, who is a great actor and a great buddy of ours. So we had that in common, and once we got into the scene, it just made sense, and it just clicked." Additionally, director Chris Grismer shares how Raymond Lee is exceptionally talented, and can seemingly do just about anything. In fact, he shares that the boxing coach who helped Raymond with the production of “Somebody Up There Likes Ben” said that he could go pro.
So, why shouldn’t Quantum Leap get a third season? It would be a shame to not only not know if Sam makes it home, but additionally not know if Ben does. I truly hope someone, if not NBC, will consider bringing back the show and continuing a franchise that is loved by many.
