Bring Back the Phasmophobia Stance
The Issue
To Kinetic Games:
We need to talk.
Phasmophobia has come a long way. Better graphics. Better equipment. New ghosts. New maps. New character models.
All very impressive.
But in our relentless pursuit of technological advancement, we have lost something precious.
Something beautiful.
Something that defined an era.
The Phasmophobia Stance.
You know the one.
Knees bent.
Back slightly hunched.
Arms hanging there like you're not entirely sure what they're supposed to be doing.
The unmistakable posture of a human being who appears to have simultaneously thrown out their back, heard a noise upstairs, and desperately needs to find a bathroom.
That Phasmophobia Stance.
Nobody asked these investigators to learn proper posture
The original Phasmophobia investigators didn't walk into a haunted house like trained paranormal professionals.
They scuttled into it.
You'd turn around and see three of your friends creeping down the hallway looking like a group of sleep-deprived goblins who had just been informed there was a ghost somewhere near the kitchen.
It was magnificent.
Then the ghost started hunting.
Suddenly four grown adults in the Phasmophobia Stance were desperately power-waddling toward the nearest closet.
This wasn't merely an animation.
This was culture.
The Phasmophobia Stance belongs in a museum
There are certain things that become inseparable from a game's identity.
Mario has his jump.
Master Chief has his armour.
Phasmophobia has four people standing outside a bathroom looking like they've collectively forgotten how the human skeletal system works.
The Phasmophobia Stance wasn't elegant.
It wasn't realistic.
We're not entirely convinced it was anatomically possible.
But it was ours.
And watching your friend slowly rotate toward you while maintaining the Phasmophobia Stance was somehow both the funniest and most unsettling thing in the entire game.
We aren't against progress
We appreciate the work that goes into improving Phasmophobia.
Seriously.
Keep the new models. Keep improving animations. Keep making the ghosts terrifying enough that grown adults abandon their friends and slam closet doors in their faces.
We're asking for just one thing:
Give us the Phasmophobia Stance back.
If it can't return as the standard movement style, give us a Classic Phasmophobia Stance option.
Let the people choose.
Those who want realistic human locomotion can have it.
Those of us who want to roam haunted houses looking like our investigator slept folded inside the equipment van should be allowed to do that too.
This is bigger than all of us
Future generations of Phasmophobia players deserve to know what came before them.
They deserve to experience the confusion of watching their friend crouch while already appearing vaguely crouched.
They deserve to watch four investigators waddle silently through a house while somehow looking substantially more paranormal than the actual ghost.
They deserve the Phasmophobia Stance.
So, Kinetic Games, we respectfully ask:
Bring it back.
Adapt it to the new models.
Make it an option.
Call it Classic Movement.
Call it Legacy Animations.
Call it The Phasmophobia Stance and pretend this was the plan all along.
We don't care.
Just give us our weird little walk back.
Sign the petition.
Sign for nostalgia.
Sign for questionable posture.
Sign for every investigator who bravely entered a haunted building looking like they had a slipped disc but refused to let that stop them from finding evidence.
Bring back the Phasmophobia Stance.
👻 Bent knees. Hunched backs. Full hearts. Can't lose. Bring back the beans👻
