When Panera Bread launched their new "enhanced" menu items, various recipes of their tasty classics were changed, some for the better, but some for worse. Such a menu item is the Bistro French Onion Soup. Now, there had been another scandal with this soup back in 2020 when Panera removed it from the menu, but ever since it has been reinstated it has been one of, if not the best, soup I have ever gotten the pleasure to consume. Personally, I was only introduced to this delectable meal last year, but have grown extremely passionate about it. I have defended the French onion soup to those who attempted to shun me for eating a "grandma food", and would have continued to fight for my life against its many haters. Unfortunately, due to recent events, I cannot protect and enjoy it like I used to. As Panera revamped their menu, the recipe of this soup had been changed. And it is not a good change. The previously thin, warm, savory broth has been replaced with a slimy, thick liquid imitating a soup. The onions have gone from a perfect size, flavor, and texture to something that feels like a slug sliding down your throat. I cannot consume this monstrosity any longer. We need to restore the quality of Panera's French onion soup, and it starts with us: the people. Join me in fighting for what is right. Join me in restoring an age-old recipe that brought flavor to people's lives, pleasure to their tastebuds, and smiles to their lips.
