Bring Back the Naruto CCG

The Issue

Let me first take you back to a very personal story on my own end of things. I'll try to keep it brief though to let us get to what we are all here for. The year is 2011, the card shelf is absolutely packed with all sorts of different collectible series and other small collectible trinkets and toys. I was about 12 at the time and I remember seeing some of these cards that just fascinated me, because I loved watching Naruto as I was growing up and I had no idea that there even were cards until then. I asked my mom so many times if I could get something, even just a small pack, though I really wanted a tin truth be told. She finally let out a sigh and let me pick out what I wanted, of course going for the Kakashi tin that I saw there. I can't remember the set that the cards were part of within it, but I remember loving that tin, even still having it somewhere.

My point with the story is that this is something that grew to really be a large part of my childhood, and even still a fascination today. Many of us have these kinds of stories we can think back to and relish in what was, wishing that it could be again now. There are so many things that Bandai could still cover, and they could even go back to the beginning and give us revamped new sets, with the old school flair and the new school artwork. It would be incredible to see these cards on shelves once again, and I am certain that they would be a huge hit.

Back in 2013, Bandai discontinued this once beloved Collectible Card Game right in the height of quite a few great things that they had yet to cover, leaving it off with the now impossibly hard to find Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 set. It has been almost 10 years now since this discontinuation and those that love this card game and the series it belongs to have in recent times seen a very steep climb in not only prices, but in the cards themselves as no more are being produced. I feel that if so many card games are so successful these days, why couldn't the Naruto CCG work again? We have the likes of Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Magic the Gathering, Dragon Ball Super, and now the soon to be coming One Piece card games just to name a few. In there, we have seen that the model of using popular anime/manga series has worked and has seemingly every plan to: I ask again, why couldn't the Naruto CCG work again?

Of course, I know that there is no guarantee that this will get Bandai to rethink the cards coming back, but no inaction has ever caused something to work, so this is my way of trying something, anything at all to get a beloved piece of my childhood to return. Bandai, if you do ever see this, please give the Naruto CCG a chance again, for new fans and old ones.

(Also please note that the tin pictured is not my own personal one, but rather one I remember looking quite similar)
