Ever since they brought back the McSpicy burger in 2023, my life has changed for the better. It became my go to everytime I stepped foot into a McDonald’s. For 3 years I’ve had it twice a week, some might say it was unhealthy, but I didn’t care. The McSpicy means more to me than anyone will ever know.

Yesterday night I got the news from a friend that the McSpicy was discontinued. I couldn’t believe it. I loaded up my McDonald’s app to check for myself, and it was true.

The McSpicy burger was gone, but what do I see taking its place? The Spicy McCrispy. It was a betrayal, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I slapped myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming but it was real. 

Some of you might read this and think “what’s the problem? They sound exactly the same”. No, they aren’t. The issue I have is that the McCrispy is incredibly mid, and this spicy McCrispy is the same as the McCrispy, just with spicy mayo sauce. The chicken piece they use for the McSpicy is just different. Crispy, tender, all while having the perfect amount of spice. The McSpicy didn’t have to rely on performance enhancing sauces to make it taste good, it was naturally good. 

It’s clear that McDonalds just want to cut cost by using the same recipe for this as the McCrispy, and it’s honestly sad to see. The corporate greed of these companies is insane. They care about their profits so much that they would strip away something that filled so many of their customers with joy. Something that kept their customers going when they thought they couldn’t go on any longer.

All I ask is that you sign this petition, even if you don’t necessarily like the burger, please do it for me and the millions of others who live for this burger. I’m not sure how much longer I can go on
