To the Marquette University Administration-

This is a petition to eliminate the Eagle Express system and revert back to the old LIMO program. There are many contributing factors to this proposed change. Those major reasons are listed below.

Reason #1 - Lack of Safety Measures

The Eagle Express service does not allow flag-downs, which is detrimental to the whole concept of campus safety. I've had many students tell me that they feel unsafe walking home as they weren't able to jump on a van like they could in the old LIMO system.

Reason #2 - Overall Inefficiencies

The app has varying wait times that are never accurate. Additionally, you will be passed by other vans occasionally that aren't your van, so you can't jump on board. This creates confusion for students. 

Reason #3 - Student Disapproval

Marquette's student body does not enjoy the new service at all. Many students have given up on the service entirely and are demanding a change to the old system.

Reason #4 - Budgetary Concerns

Marquette is most likely spending  a lot of money on this contract with Via to provide a routing service. This service is inherently flawed and the drivers could do it better. Changing back to the LIMO service would save Marquette University a LOT of money!

Conclusion

Marquette University claims that they care about student safety on campus. The Eagle Express program runs contrary to those claims by endangering the student population. If MU truly cares about their students, they will revert to the old LIMO system.
